21 Days Residential Certificate Course on Organic Farming

 
Implementing Agency : National Centre for Organic and Natural Farming (N/RCONF) at H.Q.Ghaziabad.
Objectives : The program is designed for Skill development of Rural Youth in field of Agriculture to develop entrepreneurs/ Agriculture Startups in various sectors of Organic farming. The aim of this program is to build capacity of rural youths linked to Local group/FPO/ICS members under PKVY/BPKP/MOVCDNER and any other State /central agencies scheme and strengthen organic food Industry especially in organic/natural production, quality base on-farm resource production & natural resource management and market value chain development.
 
  • I. To create, refresh and update first generation organic agriculture extension workers, field workers and organic / natural growers at Local group/FPO/ICS level.
  • II. To create work force which will help/guide/learn the techniques for increasing farmer’s income at Village/Block/District level like reducing input cost/inputs management, inter-cropping, crop waste management, nutrient management, water management etc.
  • III. To strengthen LGs/FPOs/ICS on organic farm management practices with special focus on soil health management, crop nutrient management and plant protection through formulation of on farm inputs as soil health promoters along with botanical extracts
  • IV. To empower trainees at Village/Block/District level with skill and knowledge and develop professionals for organic certification facilitation including PGS-India certification system and JaivikKheti portal operationalization.
  • V. Increasing the employment opportunities for rural youth/ Farmers / entrepreneurs/ Agriculture Startups at Village/Block/District level in organic farming.
  • VI. To impart skills at Village/Block/District level required for organic farming practices and related marketing economics.
Programme Duration : 21 days training course with field training
No. of Participants :  30 Nos. of participants in each batch.
Eligibility for participation : The course will be open for rural youth with minimum12th pass candidates and any graduate excluding agriculture graduates (reservation policies as per GOI norms- {15%SC (04seats), 7.5% STs (02 seats), 27% OBCs (08 seats) including 4.5 % minorities (1 seat)}. In case if suitable candidates are not found from scheme than any other graduate from that area/region can be accommodated.
Age : Preference will be given to rural youth; however, there is no age bar
Eligibility Documents to be produced at the time of registration: :
  • 2 passport Size Photograph
  • Self-Attested copy of Identity proof (Voter ID/Driving license/PAN card/Aadhar card
  • Self-Attested copy of 12th pass certificate
  • Self-Attested copy of eligible document & marks sheet
  • Self-attested copy of Caste certificate in case of reserved categories (OBC/SC/ST candidates)
  • Course content : 
    • • Introduction with need, Concept/ Philosophies, Principles and component of organic farming
    • • Soil health build up is the prime need in organic farm management
    • • Organic farming as an integrated approach
    • • Conversion to organic with national standards
    • • Crop Management, Nutrient and water Management and Pest Management and inter- cropping system based farm planning
    • • In-situ composting, mulching and recycling of organic matter in organic Agriculture
    • • On-farm input generation and resource management
    • • Traditional organic/ Natural input preparation and use of Biofertilizer, biopesticides, plant health promoters like Panchgavya, Beejamrut, Jeevamrut and Ghanjeevaamrit etc.
    • • Manure preparation and introduction to compost, composting and its value addition, technical know-how on quality control of organic fertilizers and biofertilizers as per Fertilizer Control Order (FCO)
    • • Introduction to various agriculturally useful Biofertilizer and Biocontrol agents including Integrated Pest Management
    • • Economics of organic farming
    • • System of organic certification and inspection including PGS-India / 3rd party certification and JaivikKheti portal operationalization
    • • Processing and marketing by Branding of rural products, FSSAI, marketing and packaging of organic produce
    • • Current Government schemes related to organic farming.
